Experiences

The best way we learn is through experiences

In today’s world, we tend to often only focus on the intellectual, rational mind and ignore the emotional connection to the world that is so important. Let’s change that.

The best way to learn is to do

Through deep experiences we aim to provide individuals with the opportunity to reach significant insights and self-realization of who they want to be in the world, while equipping them with the philosophy, science and tools to put that into practice.

Climate Change Conversations

64 Barnet Street, Gardens, Cape Town (ReWild Offices)

Apr 7, 2022

Apr 7, 2022

Effective strategies to learn about and engage with climate change play an important role in addressing this challenge. There is growing recognition that education needs to change in order to address climate change, yet the question remains “how?”. How does one engage young people with a topic that is perceived as abstract, distant, and complex, and which at the same time is contributing to growing feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and anxiety among them? The art of storytelling through film acts as a valuable and powerful conduit to developing a meaningful connection with climate change. Artistic and creative practices can help us imagine what alternative futures might look like; opening up our minds to new scenarios of change. The art of storytelling through film is instrumental to communicating scientific data in a more digestible, relatable and engaging manner. It has the capacity to raise awareness and to engage creativity for addressing complex problems, and support transformation to sustainability. Join us this First Thursday, for the first of a series of Climate Change Conversations, where the aim is to better understand WHAT Climate Change really is & ways to combat it!

Biomimicry Immersion 2021 - Course Three of Three

Wild Spirit Lodge, Nature’s Valley, Garden Route, WC, South Africa

Feb 26, 2021

-

Feb 28, 2021

Join this 3-day immersion to explore how to “create conditions conducive to life” within our own bodies through a deep understanding of how nature nourishes life. While the focus is on our own health, we will discover how the principles for nourishing life within our own body systems are the same for nourishing life in ecosystems and could inform the design of human systems. This is particularly important for anyone who is concerned about their own health, the state of health in the world post-COVID-19, and the state of human systems, and our lack of connection to nature. You can join this 3-day immersion on its own, or participate in other biomimicry immersion at the same venue over 9 days. Facilitators: Claire Janisch, Biomimicry Professional, Holistic Health practitioner, Director of BiomimicrySA and TheraphiSA; Vincent Truter, certified Japanese Forest Bathing, Shiatsu and Japanese tea ceremony practitioner.
